Children are more prone to be obese if they watch television more than two hours a day. A study made on 10,000 people found that every hour of watching TV at the age of five increased the risk by 7 percent to become an obese adult.
The research is based on people born during one week in 1970. It also found that four hours of static position each day at aged 16 caused the increased body mass at age 30.
Dr Russell Viner, of University College London, who carried out the research, says that, the situation is distressing today. Modern children spend more time in watching television than earlier. It is an alarming situation for them.
