According to a Sociology Professor of Purdue University, indulging in religious activities may lead to obesity. As believed by him, there is correlation between religious activity and body mass index, leading religious people to obese.
As per his observations, southern churches of United States comprising of Baptists are found obese up to 27 per cent.
It is due to the religious consciousness in people of southern US along with high calorie southern food also.

Beware! Your religious inclinations may lead to Obesity!

Comments
When observing a correlation between religion and weight, it would be foolish to forget other factors. Is it not possible that Baptists tend to be of a certain socio-economic status, background, region, political party, occupation, etc. that overlaps with the obese sector of the population? To imply that Baptist faith directly promotes weight gain is an absurd claim based on a percentage. If it is found that Baptist practice leads to obesity, be careful not to expand into a all-encompassing religious commentary.
