obese3According to Dr. Gregory Simon, a researcher at the University of Washington, obese people are more likely to be affected with depression as compared to those with normal weight.

Now the question arises that whether depression that make people obese or overweight people get affected with depression?

Generally, people appetite gets reduced when, affected from depression and its dullness motivate us to exercise, in turn raises our appetite. Moreover, depression leads to the deposition of fat in stomach. So, an individual need to curtail depression first rather than obesity to get proper control over mind.

I believe that depression can be the cause of obesity but not in totality as obesity hikes with high-calorie diet and with non-physical activities. And it may also possible that obese person can be affected with depression due to weight reducing problem. Thus, in my views, not the depression to be blamed but both can be inter-related.
