About 270 people develop diabetes every day and nearly 100,000 people every year in Australia. It would cost billions of dollars in future health care in the country. This figures in the study which is to be released by the federal health minister, Tony Abbott.
Melbourne-based International Diabetes Institute has conducted a research and found also that the rate of obesity is increasing alarmingly. It shows that Australia is in the grip of diabetes epidemic.
