Is cutting down on food intake the best way to lose weight? The answer is no. I was as surprised as you people are when I read this article about ‘eating more to losing those extra pounds’. However, the catch here is that you need to know if the food you are eating is low density or low fat.
Low density foods are low in calories, have high water content, and high fiber content. So, when you eat more of low density food, you are not adding up your calorie count yet losing more weight due to the content. So, the volume of food intake is not necessarily equal to weight addition. On the contrary, if you eat low fat food, you are just cutting down on calories but not losing the fat around your waist.
It must be quite hard for most of the obese people to suddenly reduce their food intake. Doctors say that when there is a craving for food in such cases, people have to forget those burgers and pizzas with cheese. Instead, get a salad with a low fat dressing and eat as many as you want.
A low density diet should ideally consist of fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, lean meat, fish, etc. So, the road to losing weight is not hard after all. Doctors feel that the volume too does make a difference. They found that low density dieters ate 25 percent more food than low fat dieters and still managed to lose 6 pounds more than the latter. So, this means you would not be loading up calories even though you eat a lot, provided your diet is low density. Keep this in mind next time. Eat more to stay healthy.
