Exercise programs at school may not help children to reduce obesity. According to Scottish researchers, the daily exercise does not have any impact on the children of same age group. If the children do more exercise in schools, they do less outside.
Terry Wilkin of the Peninsula Medical School in Plymouth studied on about 600 children in Britain from different schools and socio-economic backgrounds.
They found in the study that only five percent of the primary schools in Scotland organize the recommended two hours a week of physical exercise for schoolchildren. On the other hand, only seven percent of secondary schools do the same.
