According to the experts, obese women are discarded from IVF to access free fertility treatment in England and Wales, as obese women have a low chance of fertility and more risks of health problems.
The recommendations of British Fertility Society (BSF), states that National Health Services funded treatment(NHS) has banned the fertility treatment for obese women having the body mass index of 36 or more. But as per its new guidelines, obese women should not be denied from treatment rather they should be better warned of the health risks in this regard.
BSF points out NHS that it should not ban fertility treatment as the treatment has a wider scope in social context for single woman, lesbian couples and persons having children from previous relationships. Moreover, it will be disappointing for the persons having fertility problems.
