The country does not seem to be satisfied with strategic implementations. The Irish Government has done little to implement its strategy to tackle obesity, a senior European health official has been told.
The recent report of the Government’s taskforce on obesity was very clear on who is responsible for dealing with the problem, Professor Cecily Kelleher, head of the School of Public Health at University College, Dublin, told the meeting.
‘The taskforce on obesity came up with some excellent recommendations to tackle obesity and was very clear on who is responsible for implementing them - the Taoiseach,’ Prof Kelleher said.
