Obesity in adults has doubled, and even tripled in children in the past three decades. And do you know, obesity could be contagious? Now, new research is suggesting it. Researchers studied a human virus similar to the common cold. And they found chickens and other animals infected with it became overweight.
But, how did the virus cause weight gain or how significant of a role does it play in obesity? The replies to these are not yet found. But, other scientists believe, they have found different viruses with a similar effect.
“We saw, every single time, the infected animals get a lot more fat,” Dr. Nikhil Dhurandhar of Penning ton Biomedical said.
