
The two main victims of obesity in Asia are China and India. Transformed lifestyles and packaged foods are the main causes of growing obesity in these two nations.
In China almost 30% of the population is in the obese category. The pace of obesity has doubled during last 10 years. India is among the top 10 obese nations. Every fourth diabetic in the world today is an Indian. The WHO estimates that China and India will have half the diabetics in Asia by 2030.
India is going to get the rate of obesity as high as 20%. The government, Junk food manufacturers, the celebs doing ads, can be blamed easily for the increasing habits in the young age people of taking calorie stuffs without thinking about its consequences. The government should take steps to put their efforts to stay away from companies selling junk food.
