Here is a good news for the women who want to remain in good shape and size. According to a new study, if women keep away from simple carbohydrates and add more fibers to their meals then it may help them keeping good shape and size.

During the course of study, it was found that the women who consumed food rich in glycemic index in six years they comparatively gained more fat than the women who ate low glycemic index food.

However, still it would be too abrupt to say that glycemic index is the main cause behind weight gain therefore, researchers are also holding up the idea that further study is still required to bring out more evidences to back up this fact.

Normally, the foods that contain refined sugar such as candy, white bread etc. are rich in high glycemic index. On the contrary, foods rich in fibers such as vegetables, whole grains are known to have low glycemic index.

So, try to add more fibers to your meal and try to exclude food rich in glycemic index.
