The cesarean births rate now touches 29 percent of total births in the United States. The rate of cesarean deliveries was around 5 percent of births during 1940s and it rose to about 22 percent during 1990s. The doctors said during 90s that women who will have cesarean delivery will not be able to take same path next time. Then there was a sharp decline in the rate of cesarean to below twenty percent after this medical statement.



However, some studies has specified about the dangers of going for normal delivery after a cesarean. And again the cesarean deliveries have risen to 29 percent of all births.



The research indicated that this increasing rate, of cesarean deliveries, is coming out to happen together with rise of the body mass index of women.



Obesity leads to bigger babies, gestational diabetes, high blood pressure in mother and preeclampsia. All of this leads to a decision for cesarean delivery.
