Sales of obesity drugs may reach to more than $1.7 billion by 2014. An
analyst firm predicts in a new report that it is the launch of obesity
drugs from three pharmaceutical companies that will propel the sector
to this height of sales with Sanofi-aventis` Accomplia accounting for
the lion`s share of that amount.
Stephanie Krebs, the author of the report and an analyst with Decision
Resources, told United Press International, ‘The obesity market is
going to grow substantially over the next decade, but it%u2019s still going
to be facing some hurdles.’
