obeseeee_64Believe it or not, but it is true that very soon Britain is going to see a great hike in the number of patients with cancer and researchers claims that it would be due to increase in obesity. Before stepping further lets have a glimpse of the radical facts associated with obesity in England and researchers’ predictions about it.

Researchers believe that by the year 2010, England will have 1,500 extra cases of cancer and credit would go to obesity.
If obesity keeps on marching ahead with the same pace, about 12,000 people would be gripped by cancer annually in England.
According to Cancer Research UK statisticians, weight-related cancers are likely to loom out from 10,500 a year to 12,000 a year and that too is likely to happen just in seven years.
After smoking, obesity is one of the most important preventable causes of cancer.

The concern expressed by the researchers is not without reason and it does have a strong base because various studies have also proclaimed that obesity higher up the chances of deadly cancer. I think if the predictions made by the researchers come out true than it would be a terrible curse for the people of England. I hold many factors responsible for this rise in obesity cases among which more dependence on machines, sedentary lifestyle, inactivity, leading an unhealthy lifestyle, great taste for fast foods are most prominent.

There was a time when children used to participate in outdoor activities more and more but as laziness and inactivity has crept into our lives in the disguise of technology, it has given invitation to various deformations too along with it. Videogames, computers, internet are substituting most of the outdoor activities of these children, which is a key factor behind the massive rise in obesity cases, especially in children, who are future of this world. May be this is a new revelation to some people that obesity also higher up the chances of cancer but from years most of us know that obesity also give rise to several other problems too like hypertension, high blood pressure, depression, nervous disorders etc.

In the last few decades, not only England but also the whole world has seen a great rise in the number of people with obesity, which I think points to a serious threat hovering round mankind. It would also not be wrong to say that obesity is fast approaching a status where it would be defined as a pandemic. Already there are various other challenges like HIV/AIDS, Bird-flu, global warming, pollution etc., which this world is grappling with and now another threat in the form of obesity definitely prognosticates about a serious threat that is soon going to endanger whole humanity. Therefore, it is quite important to do something to check it here and now, otherwise it would be too late.
