Childhood obesity needs a consideration. Efforts are being made in this regard, reducing high-fat and sugar-rich food amongst children.
The provincial government of Newfoundland and Labrador has initiated steps towards curbing obesity amongst school children, by introducing compulsory guidelines for cafeterias of schools.
These guidelines suggested cafeterias to provide students nutrition-rich diet every day and fat-rich food once a week.
But these guidelines found not to be working successfully as students are so habitual of the fatty-food that they run to fulfill their hunger even from fast food outlets. Moreover, the sale of cafeteria also get down by 25 percent.
Now, what can be the better solution making children to take nutritious diet? I think it may take time.
Further, parents need not provide huge amount of pocket-money to children for buying junk food. Schools also need to make strict rules not to let out children outside school compound without any urgent purpose.
